Prices for fruits and vegetables remain stable in Ukraine
The situation remains stable this week on the produce market. No significant price fluctuations were recorded. The main part of "borsch" vegetables is supplied to markets from storages. The prices for potato, table beet, cabbage, and onion have not changed. No significant price fluctuations are expected to happen next week as well. Carrot price has insignificantly grown; but the further price growth is not forecasted. At the same time, the price growth for poorly stored vegetables is recorded. For example, cauliflower got 20-40% more expensive; the price for this product rose up to $1.56-1.96/kg. Pepper price increased 15-20%; there are no peppers of low price segment ($0.39-0.58/kg) on market. There are no eggplants as well. Imported egg-plants are sold in supermarkets for $2.9-3.9/kg.
Tomatoes and cucumbers did not grow in price past week; however, the price growth of 10-15% is possible in the coming week. There are only imported cucumbers and tomatoes on market.
Fruit price remained stable past week as well. The price levels for grape, apple, citrus fruits and bananas kept firm. The price changes for these products will be insignificant till the New Year holidays.
