Price for Turkish cucumber has decreased twice as low in Kyiv
According to information provided by Aleksander Skrebets, the Wholesale Price Monitoring Specialist of the Agricultural Marketing Project (AMP), the price for long smooth cucumber of Turkish origin is $0.58-0.68/kg on Monday on Kyiv FARMER market. This price level is twice as low comparing to the prices recorded past week. The supplied volumes of long cucumber are small; there are no short cucumbers for sale at all.
There is no proven explanation for such a rapid price decline. However, AMP specialists are inclined to think that the price decrease is predetermined by overstocking; there is a need to sell the products as soon as possible. If this assumption is confirmed, the prices for cucumbers will grow up till the previous level in a couple of days.
At the same time, the price for cucumbers has not changed on SHUVAR market in Lviv: short imported cucumber costs $1.6-2.05/kg.
