Prices for bananas continue growing in Ukraine

According to information provided by wholesale trade representatives, the demand for produce is getting more active in Kyiv and other large cities of Ukraine. As a result, vegetable price stabilizes, and prices for some fruits tend to grow. In particular, the trend of average price growth for bananas is preserved. It is predetermined by demand growth for bananas in northern hemisphere in view of the coming holidays.

During the past week an average growth of wholesale price was not higher than 3-5% in Kyiv. At the same time, bananas got expensive more dramatically (+30-35%) in Lviv. Average wholesale prices for bananas and citrus fruits are still 25-35% lower in Ukraine than in Russia. To the opinion of the analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, the consequent price growth for bananas will be preserved till the New Year. A certain decrease of the wholesale prices for these products is possible after the holidays.
