New apple variety Pinata entered American market

According to information provided by American sources, apples of new variety have just entered USA market. The variety is called Pinata, it is characterized by very sweet and juicy fruits. The apples of this variety have been produced for several years in Austria, Germany, Poland and Italy. This variety is called Pinova in Europe.

A new variety inherited the sweetness of Golden Delicious apples, flavor and yellow with red stripes skin of Cox orange pippin variety, and a light sour taste of the Russian variety Duchess of Oldenburg, which was imported to the USA in 1935. It is interesting to mention that Americans selected the varieties Northern Spy and McIntosh from the mentioned variety; but Duchess of Oldenburg variety is actually unknown in Russia at the present moment.
