First shipments of Ukrainian greenhouse cucumber entered the market

According to information provided by the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, first shipments of the greenhouse cucumbers of national origin entered Kharkiv markets. The representatives of the greenhouse complexes say that the produce volumes are insignificant at the present moment; still, the harvested volumes will gradually grow in the complexes.

The produce meets a good demand due to a perfect quality, which predetermines a relatively high price in its turn.

The cucumbers of Turkish origin were sold for the price up to $2.35-2.54/kg. The prices for Ukrainian greenhouse cucumber often reached $2.74/kg; according to the vendors, there was no problem to sell this product.

Earlier, the greenhouse complexes declared that the produce supplies are likely to start not sooner than mid February. However, the complexes managed to start the season much earlier due to a warm winter. Also, the modern production technologies contribute to the earlier supplies of the first shipments of the greenhouse produce. Many national greenhouse complexes have been implementing advanced technologies, and also using earlier cucumber varieties recently.
