Market players point out the growing demand for onion

This week the market players are observing the increased demand for onion; they explain this fact by the growth of export shipments of the product to Poland and other countries. At the same time, to the opinion of the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly periodical of the produce business, the increase of demand is probably caused by the trade activation after the end of the holidays.

The market players also inform about the supply growth of medium-quality onion as a consequence of the problematic onion storage this warm winter. A significant price growth should not be soon expected in this price segment. At the same time, the sales of hi-quality onion remain sufficiently stable; the prices for this product have somewhat increased since the pervious week.
