The production of sweet cherry, plum, pear and strawberry are recognized as the most perspective branches of orcharding

It is interesting to mention that the establishment of new apple orchards and strawberry beds goes on quite actively in Ukraine, but the investments to pear, plum and sweet cherry production are considerably smaller.

To the opinion of the analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, still a few intensive plum and pear orchards are established in Ukraine. The investments to sweet cherry production are also limited because of the expensive infrastructure required: hydro-cooling, packing and transportation equipment. However, if we take into consideration the growing demand for the mentioned fruits on the inner market, the production of these crops can be considered as perspective for Ukraine too.
