Persimmon supplies to Ukraine were significantly reduced

According to information provided by the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, the persimmon supplies have been considerably reduced because of the seasonal factor. Georgia, Azerbaijan and Spain supplied most persimmon shipments this season. The insignificant volumes of persimmon, predominantly of medium quality, are present on market at the present moment.

The demand for this product is still high, so the vendors are increasing prices for the produce irrespective of the quality. As of today, persimmon shipments are mostly sold now by intermediaries for up to $1.6-2.2/kg; in some cases the prices are increased up to $2.8/kg.

Also, the insignificant volumes are present now in the retail chains (supermarkets). The specialists observe here the wider price range of $1.6-3.6/kg depending from the quality and the producer country.

To the opinion of the market players, persimmon has become the traditional item of Ukrainian market for a long time ago; the high demand for this fruit is recorded each season.
