Ukrainian government signed a memorandum with livestock market operators
On July 30, professional associations of livestock, poultry and dairy producers signed an agreement with the Government about coordination of their activities.
According to the document, the Government will involve representatives of professional associations into preparing decisions that can affect livestock, poultry and dairy market, as well as into elaboration of market development program. The Cabinet also promised to keep subsidies to producers for selling milk and livestock to processors till January 01, 2004.
The professional associations, in turn, should encourage the market development and promote exchange trading instead of barter. Besides, they will participate in formation of commodity exchange information network.
