Ukraine: vet medicine laboratory ready to be ISO-certified by the end of year

Veterinary Medicine Department is planning to upgrade State Veterinary Medicine Laboratory onto the European level, head of the Department - Petro Verbytsky said on Wednesday. "We want our laboratory to be recognized in the world" - he said.

According to him, the Department has already obtained about $400,000 off-budget money for purchasing lab equipment.

Further, the Laboratory will be ready to carry out a number of lab examinations by ISO procedures (tests for heavy metals, antibiotics, radiochemical contamination of products). "This will enable us to issue export certificates valid in European countries" - Mr. Verbytsky said.
