Polish mushroom exports well to Germany

According to information on site Ebronisze.pl, Polish mushroom is actively sold on German wholesale markets. The vendors offer fresh champignons of Polish origin for $2.14-5.1/kg. In fact, but for mushrooms Polish producers export no other types of produce to Germany this season. However, Polish onion, Pekinese cabbage and tomatoes used to be actively sold on German market at this period of time.

Polish products are worse competing on the EU markets in the season 2006/07 as a result of the decreased inner vegetable production. At the same time, Polish producers steadily occupy their position on the mushroom market. However, Polish entrepreneurs have found mushroom export to Ukrainian market more complicated in the recent years. Ukrainian mushroom industry is actively developing, with new investments coming and production being consolidated. The total mushroom supply on market grows, it forces imported products out. It is possible that Ukrainian champignon and oyster mushroom growers will have to search for the sales markets outside Ukraine and compete with Polish mushroom on the EU countries' market in a couple of years.

You can get more details about the perspectives of the mushroom market development, the novelties of the production technologies, handling, cooling, packing and marketing of mushrooms in Ukraine during the second international conference Mushroom Industry - 2007, to be held in Kyiv on the 12th-15th of June 2007.
