New fruit & vegetable processing plant has been comissioned in Georgia
In Zugdidi (Samegrelo, West Georgia) the medium size fruits and vegetables processing plant - Agati ltd. is opened with the assistance of the funded donor project -. Within the assistance program following pieces of equipment were bought to the company: plastic bottle blowing, filling and paste (tomato, sour plum) production machines.
The plant will buy fruits, citruses and vegetables mainly from the local farmers/growers, process them into jams and sauces and sell on the local as well as export markets. Main markets are West Georgia, Tbilisi and Ukraine.
Plant production capacity is 4000 bottles per shift. Main products are sour plum and tomato sauces, lemon and feijoa jams and recently added cold coffee with this latter targeting summer season market in Adjara.
