Ukrainian greenhouse complexes easily sell the grown produce this season

According to information provided by the weekly periodical of the produce business in CIS, "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and fruits" journal", the greenhouse complexes have no problems selling grown produce this year. The journal analysts evaluate that the demand for greenhouse products continues exceeding the supply despite of the new players entering the market this year and the extension of the acreage of the modern greenhouses owned by the market leaders. Due to this fact the greenhouse complexes of Ukraine have the opportunity to keep the prices higher than a year ago.

To the opinion of Andriy Yarmak, the Expert of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and fruits" journal, the higher prices for greenhouse vegetables and smooth product sales can be explained by the fact that the production of greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers grows slower than the demand for these products. Moreover, the market players feared that the price growth for gas would affect their business: this factor turned out to be positive for the modern greenhouse complexes utilizing the energy-saving technologies. As a result of the price growth for gas, the producers - owners of out-of-date greenhouses had to give up this business. This fact created additional opportunities for the market price growth.

According to the forecasts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and fruits", the prices for greenhouse vegetables won't decrease till the Easter. Moreover, we can expect a certain price growth before the holidays as a result of the increased demand which can not be fully covered.
