Imported strawberry is twice as cheap in Poland than in Ukraine
The specialists of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal" inform about the activated demand for the imported strawberry of Spanish origin in Poland. This berry is sold in retail for $ 4.4-5.4/kg in average. First shipments of strawberry grown in Polish greenhouses are expected to enter the market in the end of the first decade of May. As a rule, Polish products are sold for a higher price than Spanish strawberries because the buyers consider national berries to be more ecologically pure and tasteful.
At the same time, the price for the imported strawberry is twice as high in average in Ukraine than in Poland. Ukrainian buyers also prefer national berries, but they are sold cheaper than Spanish strawberry. The dramatic price drop for strawberry is also expected in the first decade of May on Ukrainian market; at this period of time those strawberries will enter markets which have been grown in fields (covered with agrifiber) in the southern regions of the country.
