Raspberry stood frosts better than other berries and fruits

According to information provided by Ebronisze.pl, raspberry stood early May frosts better than other berries and fruits in Poland. The experts evaluated that not more than 20-30% of raspberry have been lost throughout the country due to the later dates of this crop blooming.

The demand for raspberry is expected to be very high during the harvesting period of this crop as a result of the declined supply of other fruits and berries. The producers of frozen berries are ready to sign the contracts on raspberry supply for rather high prices right away. The source informs that raspberry of Polana variety is the most popular among the processors. We'd like to point out that around 10% of the total export of frozen berries is allocated to frozen raspberry. However, this year the share of raspberry in the country export will undoubtedly grow.

According to evaluations of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal", the raspberry production is expected to grow 4-7% in Ukraine in 2007.
