The demand for watermelon will be very high in Ukraine and Russia this season

The analysts of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" forecast that Ukrainian watermelon producers can count on a good demand for this crop this season primarily due to the opportunities of export growth. The dramatically decreased fruit production in Poland will result in the price growth for fruits throughout EU; the demand for always-available watermelon will jump up.

According to the tentative forecast of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, watermelon production is expected to decline in Ukraine in 2007; this fact will contribute to the steady formation of watermelon prices. Russia and Ukraine are in the list of the largest watermelon producers in Europe; they are actively developing the export of this crop. That's why we expect the export supplies of Russian and Ukrainian watermelon to grow further in 2007.
