World mushroom production: lessons learnt and future perspectives

Alexander Khrenov, the General Director of "Mushroom production school" will speak on this topic during the international conference "Mushroom Industry 2007" to be held in the National Complex "Expocenter of Ukraine".

A rapidly developing mushroom production in Ukraine has been facing a number of problems, which are the necessity to technically improve the production process, "price wars" in the seasons of active mushroom harvest and low demand periods, the absence of the accurate mushroom production policy and no organizations able to provide solutions for the common problems which mushroom growers experience.

That's why it is very important for Ukrainian mushroom growers to study the experience of the other countries where mushroom production has already passed the stages of development, observed in Ukraine today. Also, it is important to understand the global trends of the mushroom market processes in order to effectively plan the produce growing and marketing.

In his report A. Khrenov will cover the experience of mushroom growers in Western and Eastern Europe, Australia, Northern America, China, Russia. The forecast of the mushroom market development in Ukraine will be based on this experience.
