New threat for fruit and berry harvest in Poland
Polish produce growers inform ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal" that the disastrous impact of frosts may be aggravated because of the moisture deficit in the soil. There was almost no snow in many regions of Poland. Also, the rainfalls in winter and spring period were lower than normal and fewer than the average long-term data.
Most orchards are not irrigated in Poland; considering this fact, fruit trees are becoming weaker as a result of moisture deficit. The specialists are hesitating now to accurately evaluate the situation break-point; but, the moisture deficit will possibly decline the fruit harvest for another 5-10% in Poland.
