Ukraine: sour cherry harvest is in danger in most farms of Western region of the country

This information was provided to the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal by the representatives of the processing enterprises: today they doubt their ability to purchase the required volumes of sour cherry for processing.

There were almost no rainfalls in most orchard farms of Vinnitsa and Khmelnitskiy oblasts in the period of fruit formation; as a result, the mass of green cherries shed in the orchards. In some cases the orchardists observed actually 50% of the future harvest lost.

The processors admit the fact that they are forced to increase the purchase prices. Theca enterprises will probably reduce the production volumes which find the cost of raw materials unaffordable.
