Butter imports to Russia Jan-Jun 2002 rose 8.7pc. Sunoil imports decreased 2.6pc
In the first half-year 2002 imports of butter to Russia increased 8.7 percent, while imports of sunflower oil dropped by 2.6 percent. Official data of Russian State Customs Committee indicate that 69,900 tonnes of butter were imported over the period on the total value of $83.2 million. The main volumes of import came from countries outside the CIS - 52,100 tonnes on $59.7 million. Average price for butter dropped 2 percent.
Sunflower oil was delivered in the amount 84,200 tonnes on the sum $54.1 million. Main volumes arrived from the CIS countries - 45,100 tonnes on $34.1 million. Average price for sunoil rose by 25.6 percent over the period.
