Ukraine: producers don't hurry to set the sales prices for processors to purchase strawberry

Processing enterprises plan to start purchasing strawberry next week. However, today many of them feel disturbing about the fact that the producers have not defined yet the sales price level for raw materials, according to information "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly journal http://www.fruit-inform.com. The representatives of the enterprises say that despite of the gradually declining prices for strawberry many farms do not hurry to figure out the sales prices for processors at the present moment. The thing is, the harvest situation in different farms is not always comparable. Those farms report about low figures of the berry yield with the account of hot weather where the regular irrigation is not applied on strawberry fields. At the same time other producers plan to have a great harvest, as they implement modern technologies in their work.

At the present moment the producers of jams and confiture are declaring the purchase prices for strawberry to be on the level of $0.5-0.6/kg; the enterprises - producers of frozen strawberry are setting the higher prices up to $0.7-1/kg. At the same time, only several processing complexes manage to purchase raw material on market because of a small quantity of the product supplies on market.
