Watermelon oversupply on market: low demand presses the prices down

Watermelons have entered markets early this year, so that the producers are forced to decline prices, "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" informs. As of June 18th, early watermelons cost $0.4/kg on KOPANI market in Kherson oblast. The buyers doubt the safety of early produce; they are not ready yet to actively buy early watermelons. The producers find the sales complicated. Past year early watermelons entered the markets much later, by the end of June; this produce cost $1-1.2/kg in 2006.
