Supplies of Polish vegetables to Russia to liven up

Russian Custom informs about more frequent cases of Polish vegetable supplies to the territory of Russian Federation. The experts of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly" remind that the embargo on plant product supplies from Poland to Russia has been in effect since mid November 2005.

However, the analysts believe that Russian market reminds very attractive to Polish suppliers who try to preserve this niche by all possible means. In particular, more than 50% of fruits and vegetables consumed in Kaliningrad region had been of Polish origin until the supplies were banned. To the opinion of trade sources, this percent has been significant even after the embargo was imposed.

""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" forecasts, Poland will have greater than in 2006 vegetable harvest this year. At the same time, fruit harvest will be 30-40% lower than in 2006.
