High Prices for Medium-Term Sorts of Cabbage Reduce Crop Prospects for Late Cabbage

According to market participants information, the high level of prices noted lately for medium-term ageing varieties of white cabbage, makes some producers begin now harvesting of late sorts of cabbage. So, as experts of weekly "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" inform, heads of late varieties of cabbage are very small, but yet have good look, and demand for them is high enough.

Thus, the increase in demand for cabbage at the market results in price stabilization, on one hand, but deteriorates crop prospects for late sort harvest, which give most harvest. Let us remind you that earlier analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" forecasted that cabbage crop in 2007 will be approximately at last year level, but this forecast may be reconsidered by September.
