Ukraine: Borsch Set Vegetable Prices Are Gradually Going Down

As experts of CIS fruit and vegetable business project think, "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" borsch set vegetable prices are decreasing constantly. According to producers' words, despite decrease in some cultures yield this season, every day it is increasingly more difficult to keep the selling prices for onion, carrots, red beet, and potatoes. Market players explain this circumstance by the intensive harvesting of vegetables in all, without exclusions, regional farms, resulting, in its turn, in general increase in supply of products at the market.

Thus, as an example, maximum decrease in onion prices is noted in the southern regions and AR Crimea. During one week the prices went down by approximately 15-20%. Prices for minor onion of average quality are declining especially intensively.

Maximum reduction of potato prices is reported in western regions of Ukraine, where these products ex works are now offered for about UAH 1.1-1.2 per kilo. At the same time, carrot prices, though were going down insignificantly for some period of time, this circumstance took place practically in all regions of the country.

The same decrease in wholesale prices was noted in segments of white cabbage and red beet.

These facts the specialists of journal "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" explain by seasonal factor, and further development of the situation will depend completely on uniformity of vegetables of borsch set shipments to the inner market.
