China did not make any decision to suspend fruit and vegetable supplies to Russia

Russian mass media informed this week about the dramatic price growth for apples in Primorskiy Kray. There was a version that China unilaterally suspended fruit supplies in connection with detected quarantine species of apple worms.

The representatives of the companies - importers of Chinese vegetables and fruits also informed the specialists of CIS produce business periodical, "Agrooglyad: Fruits and Vegetables" weekly, no suspended supplies were recorded at China's part. The imports are regularly performed on the territory of Russian Federation; if the quarantine for Russia apple worms are detected, the products just do not cross the border, they are sent back. Possibly in this case either delay or breakdown of one large apple shipment took place, so that the prices were affected.

We'd like to remind that the situation on fruit and vegetable market of China, and also the perspectives and problems of fruit&vegetable imports from this country to Russia will be discussed during the second international conference "Fruit&Vegetable Business of Russia 2007" to be held on October 23rd-25th 2007 on the territory of "Expocenter" in Moscow. We are glad to remind that if registered and paid for participation until September 10th, the company may save 1,750 RUR per each representative. The national agricultural producers have the additional discounts!
