Ukraine: the producers will load most part of carrot harvest to storages

The situation remains complicated on Ukrainian carrot market, the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly inform. The representatives of wholesale companies face difficulties to purchase carrot, so that the sellers are able to further increase prices. As of today, the price level for carrot has reached $0.5-0.7/kg on the wholesale market.

The processing enterprises plan to start purchasing carrot as soon as early October. Nevertheless, they have already been daunted by the prices observed on market. In this regard many processors admit the possibility to give up purchasing carrot if the price for raw material exceeds $0.2-0.26/kg.

At the same time the producers are thinking over which share of harvest to sell right now and which volumes to hold till winter. This issue is especially urgent for farmers who do not possess capacities for a long-term storage. And, the owners of modern vegetable storages are almost united to say that they would better load the most part of carrot harvest to storages. They will start selling carrot not earlier than in December. Almost everyone is sure to make good money on carrot this season.
