Apple harvest may exceed tentative producers' forecasts in Ukraine

According to the preliminary estimations, done by the analysts of CIS produce business periodical, "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly, apple harvest in Ukraine may significantly exceed the tentative expectations of the producers despite of the unfavorable weather conditions in summer 2007. The survey was conducted among the producers in various regions of Ukraine; its results prove that the yield of medium and late apple varieties is significantly higher than earlier expected. That's why the prices for apples have been relatively stable in recent weeks.

How will apple harvest increase, will it be enough to satisfy the demand for apples on the inner market? How will the prices for marketable apple form on Ukrainian market in the period October 2007 till June 2008? How will apple harvest change in different regions of Ukraine? The answers to these questions will be provided in the updated version of production and price forecast for fruits and vegetables in the season 2007/08. It will be available early October 2007.

You can order the forecast via e-mail [email protected]. The forecast costs UAH 2000 for the subscribers of the journal, and UAH 2200 for those who are not subscribed for the periodical. Those companies that purchased spring forecast will get fall forecast for UAH 1000 and UAH 1100 depending on the status of the subscription for "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly.

We'd also like to remind that the production and price forecasts will be presented during the fourth international conference "Fruits and Vegetables of Ukraine 2007. Meeting New Leader", to be held on December 4th-6th 2007 on the territory of the National Complex "Expocenter of Ukraine" in Kyiv. The online registration form for the conference participants is available here.
