Poor harvest of green pea and bean in EU

Ebronisze.pl portal informs, this year the producers of green pea and bean faced the poor harvest of these crops: they are the important raw materials for EU canneries. In particular, green pea harvest was 25% lower than earlier expected; not more than 60% of beans were harvested. So, we can expect, the prices for canned green pea and bean will significantly increase in the next season in EU.

According to the tentative information provided by the analysts of CIS produce business periodical "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly", the production of green pea has also declined in Ukraine, as well as the harvest of other vegetables utilized as raw materials by the canneries.

The Production and Price forecast for fruits and vegetables in Ukraine will be available for the journal subscribers middle October 2007; you can order the full version of the Forecast for UAH 2000 (for subscribers) and UAH 2200 (for those who are not subscribed). If the company purchased the first forecast this year, it will get autumn forecast for 50% of its price. You can order the forecast via e-mail: [email protected].

We'd like to also point out that the tentative Production and Price forecast for fruits and vegetables in the next season will be released during the fourth international conference "Fruits and Vegetables of Ukraine 2007.
