"Matritsa" to invest $ 20 mln. to supermarkets in Tolyatti
The retail chain "Matritsa" (Bashkiria) plans to invest the equivalent of $20 mln. to eight supermarkets in Tolyatti, according to information provided to Interfax by Timur Gizatullin, the Chairman of Directors Board and the major owner of the company. He says, "Matritsa" intends to open supermarkets in Tolyatti by 2008. Also, "Matritsa" plans to invest around $32 mln. to the opening of 4 supermarkets and 1 hypermarket in Samara, he adds. Two supermarkets will be launched in Samara by the end of year, as well as one hypermarket of around 7,000 sq. m. will start operating in December. Two more stores will start working in 2008. According to T.Gizatullin, "Matritsa" chain does not consider sensible the purchase of the local chains for the entering a new region. The purchase of the real estate is more profitable. According to information, "Matritsa" plans to enter Orenburg and Perm markets too. The holding announced its intention to annually open 10 stores. According to the results of the first half of 2007, the holding managed 51 stores of the total square of 121,000 sq. m., including one store in Moscow and one store in Samara.
