Ukraine: the prices increased the least for cauliflowers comparing to all other cabbages

On the background of the sharp price growth for white cabbage in Ukraine this season the prices increased not so significantly for the other types of cabbage. This conclusion is confirmed by the data of the daily monitoring of the wholesale prices for fruits and vegetables in Ukraine, Russia and Poland, conducted by CIS produce business periodical "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly.

The price growth for white cabbage amounted to 73% in average in Ukraine comparing to the previous year; however, the prices increased just 10% for Pekinese cabbage and 5% for cauliflowers. The prices for Pekinese cabbage and cauliflowers are even somewhat lower comparing to the previous year in the southern region of Ukraine.

You will find the more detailed information about the perspectives of cabbage production and prices in November 2007 - June 2008 in one of the coming issues of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly. You can order the full version of the forecast with the actual prognoses and the profound analysis of the market situation for UAH 2000 for the journal subscribers and UAH 2200 for non-subscribers of the journal.
