Apple imports to decline 20% in season 2007/08 in Ukraine - "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" forecast

The analysts of CIS produce business periodical "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly forecast 20% decline of apple imports to Ukraine in a new season, according to "Production and Price Forecast for fruits and vegetables in season 2007/08". The annotated version of the forecast will be published in the next issue of the journal, and the full version (with information presented in tables and diagrams, and with more profound price analysis) is available for UAH 2000 for the journal subscribers.

To the opinion of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" specialists, the reduction of apple imports will not fully reflect the consequence of the inner supply growth, but rather will be the result of low apple harvest in Poland and high prices for this fruit in the EU. Imports are rapidly going expensive, so the demand will somewhat decline, according to the analysts' estimations. Ukrainian producers - the owners of quality storages will have a chance to sell apples for a very good wholesale price in April-June 2008.
