Russia zeroed out tariff rates for some nuts and seeds
The order # 756 of Russian Federation Government, dated November 6th 2007, validated zero tariff rates for some types of nuts and seeds.
On the 13th of November the Press Service of the Government informed that the order becomes effective on expiry of a month starting from the date of its official release.
According to the data of Analytical Service of "Agrooglyad: Fruits and Vegetables", the tariff rate for nuts is 5-15% on the territory of Ukraine that is the largest importer of this product in Eastern Europe. It is worth mentioning that, despite of the increased consumption of nuts both on the fresh market and confectionery industry, the inner production of nuts is still rather weakly developed in Ukraine. One of the reasons for such situation is the absence of information about main aspects of such business.
In this regard "Agrooglyad: Fruits and Vegetables", decided to organize the first international forum "Perspective trends of fruit & vegetable business 2008: commercial nut orchards". The leading specialists of this industry from Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Moldova, Poland, France, Turkey and other countries will participate in the event. They will tell where and which nuts to produce in Ukraine, they will provide general characteristics of this market segment and talk about possible perspectives. Also the largest trade companies plan to speak in the forum; they will tell about capacity of Ukrainian market, and define main channels of nuts sales.
