Vegetable and potato producers of Ukraine are actively constructing new storages

According to the data of the analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits", Ukraine is one of the largest producers of potato and vegetables in Europe. However, despite of this fact the country has been exporting too little produce; Ukraine even has to import fruits and vegetables when the national harvest is poor. The deficit of quality storages for potato, fruits and vegetables preservation in winter period is one of the main reasons for such situation.

Despite of the absence of state support and accurate state policy in the sphere of agricultural market infrastructure development, Ukrainian producers of potato, vegetables and fruits are actively investing to new modern vegetable storages. By the way, if the farmer constructs storage in the neighboring Poland, he can reimburse up to 70% of the invested funds by means of state budget.

Taking into account a high interest of producers and also wholesale trade enterprises to the construction of modern potato and vegetable storages, the program of the fourth international conference "Fruits and Vegetables of Ukraine 2007. Meeting New Leader" contains at once five presentations dedicated to the modern technologies of fruit & vegetable storage.

We can recognize the presentation by Alexey Stetsenko, the Commercial Director of LLC "Ducatt" among the reports dedicated to storage. He will speak on the topic "Modern technologies of vegetable and potato storage". "Ducatt" company has already constructed the most advanced potato and vegetable storages in Ukraine, and it is ready to share its experience in the framework of the international forum "Technologies of cooling and long-term storage and handling of fruits and vegetables". The presentations of the innovative technologies of quality storage by the companies "Phytomag" and "StePac" (X-tend technology) will also be very interesting. The presentation of "Altracon" company is dedicated to the issues of designing and construction of modern storages, the technologies of hydro-cooling and sorting of produce. The directors of the companies Chlodnie KA Baranski Sp. z.o.o., Poland, and Brematech, Czech Republic will also speak about the approaches to effective storage of fruits and vegetables; these companies also possess many years of experience in this sphere.
