Slutskiy cannery plans to start Tetra-Pack juice production in summer 2008
The enterprise "Slutskiy cannery" (Minskaya region) plans to start juice production in Tetra-Packs in summer 2008, the enterprise informed Interfax agency.
"Now we produce juices only in glass jars", the specialists observed. "However, the consumers' demand for such products is low at the present moment, so that new production of juices in modern types of packs is required".
The workshop for juice packing and mixing, and a line for juice packing into Tetra-Pack of 4 tons/hour capacity will be launched for the production of new items. "We plan to produce juices on the basis of apples and other local raw materials on this line", they added.
The new production is planned to be launched in summer 2008.
The enterprise representatives told that the designing-exploring work and the project expertise have been already conducted, and the tender for construction works is announced. Also the tender for equipment supplies was conducted - Bulgarian company LLC "Index 6" has won it. The equipment should be delivered in the end of the first quarter 2008.
The equipment cost amounts to EUR 1.8 mln., the construction and mounting works cost $1.3 mln.. The project will be financed by means of credit funds and the assets of innovation foundation of Minsk Regional Executive Committee.
The enterprise representatives informed, by 2010 Slutskiy cannery also plans to reconstruct the production of canned green pea.
According to the data of the plant specialists, in January-October 2007 the enterprise produced 0.8 mln. of conditional jars of juice. This amount is 38.5% as less than the volume produced at the same period of time past year; at the same time 1.3 mln. of conditional jars of canned green pea were produced (+ 18.2%). Also, Slutskiy cannery produced 127,000 decaliters of fruit wines; this volume corresponds to the level of January-October 2006. In general, the production of marketable products in comparable prices amounted to $1.7 mln.; it increased 6.8% comparing to the respective period of time past year.
