Ukrainian fruit and vegetable producers will generate UAH 16 billion of revenues due to the product sales in 2007

Despite of the production decline observed for most types of vegetables, melons and watermelons comparing to the previous year, the producers of fruits and vegetables will have UAH 16 billion ($ 3.2 billion) of profit selling the grown products: vegetables, fruits, berries and potato in 2007. These estimations were presented by Andriy Yarmak, the head of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly during the fourth international conference "Fruits and Vegetables of Ukraine 2007. Meeting New Leader".

To the expert's opinion, fruit and vegetable business is the most important factor which influences the living standards of the rural population of Ukraine. Exactly the sales of fruits and vegetables, and work in produce sector generate the greatest incomes for the inhabitants of rural areas.

In 2007 the experts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" forecast the increase of fruit and vegetable production in Ukraine and the further growth of incomes generated by the producers who sell fruits and vegetables, despite of the possible decrease of the average sales prices for these products.
