Wholesale "Shuvar" market increased the volumes of fruit & vegetable sales up to 365,000 tons in 2007
The sales volumes of fresh fruits and vegetables traded on the largest wholesale food market "Shuvar" have reached 365,000 tons in 2007. This figure is 7% as high than in 2006. Roman Fedyshyn, the Director of LLC "Shuvar" provided this information during the fourth international conference "Fruits and Vegetables of Ukraine 2007. Meeting New Leader". "Shuvar" was the official trade sponsor of the event.
So, despite of the reduced volumes of vegetable production in 2007, "Shuvar" market continues to increase the sales volumes of food products. According to Mr. Fedyshyn, the average daily number of buyers, as well as the average purchased volume has increased in 2007. The enterprises provided data according to which in average 3,000 of buyers of fruits and vegetables visited the market on a daily basis.
According to the estimations done by the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits", the producers and wholesalers generated around $158-178 mln. of income due to the sales of the products on "Shuvar" market this year, with the account to the average wholesale prices for fruits and vegetables registered in 2007.
