Ukraine: prices for apples and pears declined as a consequence of Polish product supplies

The monitoring of the wholesale prices for vegetables and fruits is conducted by the analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly on a daily basis. It proves that the increase of legal apple and pear supplies from Poland pressed market prices down after the seasonal decreased tariff rates came into effect on the 1st of December.

According to the data of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits", during the first week of December the prices for apples have declined in average 5%. The apples of Idared variety have got more cheaper than other varieties. These apples do not meet demand on Polish market, but they are quite popular in Ukraine. The price decline for Golden Delicious varieties has constituted 6% during one week. The prices for apples of Jonagold variety have not changed much. At the same time, the prices for pear have declined 10%.
