Russia: processors started to actively purchase carrot

The producers of root crops of Russian Federation inform the specialists of CIS produce business periodical "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly that carrot market has vividly rallied since the beginning of this week. The market players explained this circumstance by the fact that processing enterprises - producers of salads and pickled vegetables - started to actively renew the raw material base on the eve of New Year holidays.

As of today, carrot holders sell this product for the price $0.2-0.36/kg depending on the transportation expenses. The processors also actively purchase cabbage - the demand for this product is high both in the segment of processing and on the freshmarket. The wholesale sales prices for cabbage are fluctuating $0.36-0.53/kg in Russia at the present moment.
