Ukraine: carrot prices have increased for another 6% since the previous week

The analysts of CIS produce business "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly inform, carrot prices continue increasing in Ukraine. Since the previous week carrot prices have increased on average 6% throughout the country.

Despite of the continuous price increase, the legal carrot imports are still unprofitable because of high import tariff rates. At the same time, Ukrainian custom officers rather stringently repress contraband supplies of Polish carrot, market players inform.

As soon as in the coming weeks the prices for this product may possibly reach the level when even legal carrot supplies to Ukraine become profitable. At the same time, the experts draw attention to the opportunity to purchase carrot in Russia where carrot is 30-40% as cheap than in Ukraine. Also, carrot supplies from Russia are not charged for import tariff rates.

We'd like to remind about the possibility to find suppliers and buyers of carrot on the whole CIS territory with the help of our trading floor. The largest producers, wholesale companies, and retail chains of Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Poland and other countries use this tool. The price-lists of the trading floor are also published in "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly which electronic and printed versions are available for the subscribers.
