Ukraine: annual production of juices and nectars has exceeded 1 mln. tons for the first time
According to estimations of the analysts of CIS fruit and vegetable business periodical "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly, juice and nectar production in 2007 has exceeded the level of 1 mln. tons for the first time. So, according to tentative forecasts, juice and nectar production increased 45% in 2007.
The journal analysts inform, blended fruit juices represented the most part of the production (around 44%). Apple, tomato and orange juices led the production of non-blended juices in 2007.
To the opinion of Andriy Yarmak, the head of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" project, high rates of juice market increase are predetermined by the increased demand from the side of population. The valuable factor was the increased percent of the consumers who choose rather natural juices than carbonated beverages.
