Ukraine: sunflower seed harvest 90pc done
As of October 10, 2002 farmers of Ukraine harvested sunseed crop on 2.384 million hectares (90 percent of the forecast), producing 2.919 million tonnes of seeds. Yield has averaged 1.22 tonne per hectare.
On October 10 last year sunflower crop was harvested from 2.064 million hectares (86 percent of forecast). 2.070 million tonnes of seeds were collected. Yield averaged 1.0 tonne per hectare.
