Agricultural production in Ukraine increased by 26.5 percent during January-July

Agricultural production in Ukraine in comparative prices in January-July of the current year increased in comparison to the same period of the last year by 26.5 percent. Furthermore agricultural production at enterprises of all forms of ownership increased by 60.9 percent, while at household plots - by 4.7 percent.

The State Committee of Statistics provided this information on August 22. In actual prices agricultural production in general around Ukraine reached 27.8 billion hryvnyas during seven months.

As it was reported by the State Committee of Statistics, plant cultivation gross production during January-July increased in comparison to the same period of the last year by 61.2 percent, including at agricultural enterprises - by 99.3 percent, which is connected with large grain crop. At household plots the production increased by 6.6 percent.

Livestock breeding gross production increased by 6.2 percent including at agricultural enterprises - by 11.8 per cent, at household plots - by 4.1 percent.

In 2000 gross agricultural production increase totaled 9.2 percent in comparison to 1999. In 1999 gross agricultural production decreased by 5.7 percent.
