Sales of Ukrainian confectioners to increase 15 pc
The forecast sales volumes of Ukrainian-made confectioneries in 2002 will be over 15 percent up from last year, operators of Ukraine's confectionery market are saying. The amount will reach 615,000 to 665,000 tonnes and the value in retail prices - $910 million (in 2001 the estimated amount was 530,000 to 570,000 tonnes and retail price value - $780 million.)
Market operators think sales volumes will not be affected by an insignificant rise in prices for chocolate products (about 5 percent) because of recent increase in cocoa-bean prices.
