Ukraine: cattle numbers decreased, pigs and poultry - rose
As of November 1, 2002, cattle head in all categories of Ukrainian farms numbered 9.6 million, which is by 93,000 heads fewer than as of the same date last year. Head of cows decreased 2.6 percent on a year and constituted 4.87 million heads.
In October this year number of pigs in all categories of farms increased 10.8 percent from that of October 2001, reaching 9.6 million. Also, poultry head in October rose 8.3 percent against October 2001 - to 167.78 million heads.
