Ukraine's livestock industry output Jan-Oct higher on a year
In January-October 2002 sales of animals and poultry for slaughter in Ukraine rose 7.8 percent compared with the same period last year and constituted 1.867 million tonnes. Share of agricultural enterprises (as opposed to individual producers) in livestock sales for slaughter was 28.9 percent.
Milk sales within the period rose 5.7 percent, compared to the same period the year before, reaching 12.5 million tonnes.
The number of eggs produced in January-October was 9.887 billion - 16.8 percent more than in January-October of 2001.
Agrarian ministry expects meat production to increase this year 21 percent and milk production to be 1 percent up from last year.
