Ukraine: organic fertilisers applied to 3 pc and mineral ones to 23 pc of winter crops sown area
As of November 1 farmers of Ukraine applied 4.997 million tonnes of organic and 51,100 tonnes of mineral fertilisers to areas, planted with winter grains and green feeds, state statistics committee informed, having collected information from accountable farming enterprises.
As per one hectare, organic fertilisers have been applied in the amount 0.8 tonne, mineral ones - 8.5 kilo per hectare of sown area.
Percentage of total sown area fertilised is 3 percent of lands treated with organic fertilisers and 23.3 percent - treated with mineral ones.
As of November 2, 2001 these percentages were 3 and 19.8 percent correspondingly.
