Mushroom prices are expected to decline in Ukraine

According to the specialists of the mushroom business of Ukraine, the dramatic price drop for oyster mushroom and champignon may possibly take place starting from the next week. To the opinion of "Fruit-Inform" specialists, this situation is predetermined by several factors. The gradual decline of the demand for the mushrooms was observed after the end of the Lent. Also, early vegetables have the negative influence on the mushroom trade on market. The sellers of champignon were able to keep the prices high during May holidays; however, as of today, most of them tell about the decreased sales rates and consequently the decreased prices. The producers of the oyster mushrooms do not reconsider the prices; however, they admit the possibility of the price drop as soon as in the beginning of the next week.

We'd like to remind that the most important event of the national mushroom industry will be held actually in one month, on the 10th-12th of June in the National Complex "Expocenter of Ukraine" in Kyiv. The most recent trends on the market of the commercial mushrooms both in Ukraine and abroad will be highlighted there. The leading specialists of the industry will present the newest technologies of the production, processing and storage of the oyster mushroom and champignon in the framework of "Mushroom Industry-2008" conference.
