Russia: rains saved future harvest of vegetables in Amurskaya region

Rains, recently fallen in Amurskaya region, saved harvest of vegetables, almost scorched by June drought. If the weather not let down Amur agrarians again, than most likely the prices for agricultural products would remain at the level of last year.

Currently, the market observes deficiency of Amur vegetables and the prices remain at high level. For example, the price for beet totals $1.2/kg. The farms had no luck with early potato as well, due to draught the productivity is lower than last year. Because of the same reason, development of other early vegetable crops suspended. At that, the growth of weeds quickened, so that additional weeding is required.

However, the farmers are confident that the harvest of late vegetables and potato will be good owing to recent precipitation, Amur.info.
