Tajikistan exported 77.000 tonnes fruits and vegetables for 6 months
During 6 months of the current year, fruits and vegetables export from Tajikistan totaled 77.369 tonnes, at that, over 5.000 tonnes fall to the share of canned production, Kazakhstan Today informed.
The export of fruit and berry products for the indicated period increased by 1.152 tonnes or 46.7% compared to the same period last year, reported Mahmud Kodirov, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan, within the press-conference. For example, for six months, 2008, cherry export doubled and totaled 173 tonnes and the export of melons increased by 84.4% as compared to the same period of 2007.
According to the data of the State Department of Control, Phyto-sanitary and Quarantine of Plants at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, the total volume of the exported products from the country totaled 184.186 tonnes in the first half year, at that, over 34.000 tonnes fall to the share of dried fruits.
